Organic Interfaces
3D heterostructures
Electronic and optical properties and, thus, the performance of organic electronic devices strongly depend on their internal interfaces. In this research direction, we focus on the control of the properties of 3-dimensional organic-organic and organic-inorganic heterostructures. We follow the development of the 3D structure of organic semiconductor molecules during the growth and specifically study the influence of the geometric and electronic structure of the substrate on the growth morphology. Additionally, we investigate the electronic properties and morphology of organic-organic heterointerfaces and the growth of metal layers on pre-grown organic layers. Ultimately, the electronic and optical properties can be controlled by chosing appropriate substrate templates and growth conditions.
